Suicide drivers are what I have decided I am going to call all of these idiots who drive through red lights. You know who you are. I am not talking about the drivers who cross on the yellow just as it turns red. The dragons with the longs tails crossing the intersection a couple of seconds into my green light is expected. It isn't great, but it isn't shocking and is somewhat par for the course where traffic lights are shorter than we like and traffic is heavy. But what is completely unacceptable are the fools who come to the stop light, don't make a complete stop, some barely even slow down, or some stop, look around and then go across. Really, driving like that is playing Russian roulette with your life and some poor innocent victim whose life you are going to damage or destroy by either hitting them or suddenly interfering with their right-of-way, causing them to hit you. Driving is fun, sometimes a chore, but always needs to be respected. The road does not belong to you, you share it.

I know many people who think that driving through a green light is safe. I feel it is almost as dangerous as driving through a red light because of some very arrogant and selfish jerks. I live near a corner with buildings quite close to the intersection. Coming through there on a green light a number of times, especially at night, I have had to slam on the brakes to avoid hitting a car running the red light a good 15 seconds into my green light. They cannot see me coming because of the buildings. So this makes this selfish action truly dangerous. Some may argue that certain intersections are very open and they can see if any cars are coming. I say that does not matter. Running a red light is breaking the law. It is the same situation with the sign "biboho". It allows left turns when it is safe to do so only when the light is green, not red, for the car turning.

I have to wonder what goes through these idiots' minds. Do they think they are superior to those of us who wait at the red light? Because their car is more expensive they have privileges the rest of us do not, and not waiting is one of them? That if they are late for some appointment, it is okay to cross through a red light. My problem is that this is not a rare event, but something I witness almost every day. Sometimes I am not even in the car, but about to cross the street, often with my dogs. The light is green for me to cross and there comes a car cutting me off and coming way too close to me and my dogs. This, more than any other action, sets off my road rage. Half my life ago, my mother was killed by another driver's selfish driving, a young woman who decided to speed in bad weather. That young woman died in that accident, too. The few seconds you save going through that red light, is it worth your life, your health or your car? Sure, you haven't had an accident so far, but do you think your luck is going to last forever? How would you feel if you hurt or killed someone? What about hitting a child? During the day, and even in the evening, I see children raising a hand and running across the road. They aren't like old people, slow and you can see them coming. Sometimes you have to wait for the old people and they cross the street slowly. They cannot dart out of your way, they can barely make it across the street. Stop being so selfish and obey the law. Stay stopped on the red, please!
