[Àױ׸®µåÀÇ ÀüÁÖ»ìÀÌ] Sherry Adventures!

I love my friends. I really do. I would do anything for them and they will do anything for me. But we do drive each other crazy. Take Sherry, for instance. She is an incredible friend. We met each other almost 23 years ago in Jeonju. She was in my second set of room mates. My first year I shared a house with three guys, the second year with three girls. She was the one I got along with the best. Her first day in the hogwon, I asked her if she knew how to get back to our place, since the school drove her around the first day. I needed help getting home the first day O was there. On the way a drunk older man saw her, linked her arm with his and tried to escort her to a yogwon (motel). She guessed what it was he wanted and resisted. For a while he was content to follow us but we needed to dump him so I called him a bad name in Korean and while he was fuming and stomping around repeating that bad word, we ran for our house. He lost us but spent an hour walking up and down the streets hunting for us. That was our first of many adventures.

Sherry, like me, has a bit of a weight problem but nowhere near mine. And she has these amazing blue eyes that most men cannot resist. We spent a lot of time together. I had a bicycle to get around on with a carrier so my dog could ride with me. On the back I had a rack that a person could sit on or you could tie packages to. Sherty and I started at the same time in the afternoons but I didn't want to walk down to the school. The school was by the underground passage of Dukchin near University street. We lived on top of the hill near Chunbuk's back gate. The fastest way down was on Baekje Street. So she would hop on the back and away we would go, flying down that hill, people just staring at us and getting out of our way.

She left to teach in Europe but didn't like it as much do she returned yo Korea , but the Seoul area, ending up in Ilsan. Our adventures continued as I would go up once a month from Gwangju. Back then, the flight cost just a little more than the bus, but about 45 minutes instead of over four hours. Then she left again because she started a family. She returned to Canada, all the way out to New Brunswick on Canada's east coast, whereas I lived in Ontario. But as fate would have it, she grew up nesr Niagara Falls and often returned to see an aunt there. So if I was flying home, she would drive her car 24 hours to get to her aunt's the same time I was home. She would spent 4 or 5 days with me, driving anywhere I wanted to go. This allowed me to visit other friends, relatives, my parents' graves or go shopping or eat. Last year she stayed with me for a week, picking Younghwa up and bringing her back to the airport after driving us all over Southern Ontario. My sisters really like her.

So now she is on her way here to Korea. She is now a vice principal and her province has a school in China. So they paid her way to visit there and she thought, since she was this close, she should drop by. So I have been cleaning and preparing my house. I even bought a bed this week and wedged it in. I have her flight number but my internet went out again so I didn't check the flight this morning. When I wrote down the number I asked if it was Korean Air, because I know they go to terminal 2. She said it was. So I am currently in the bus going to Incheon when I got a message "See you in Kimpo". I should have checked earlier, but I was so busy cleaning. I checked on my phone and sure enough, she is arriving at Kimpo. I was in China in February and we used Incheon so I never thought of the possibility. And, of course, I didn't take the limousine bus which usually goes to Kimpo, I took the bus from the shiway (local) terminal which goes directly to Incheon Airport. I worked so hard to meet her. Well, it is always an adventure with Sherry!
